The Holiday Table
If you're tired of the traditional dishes for Thanksgiving or Christmas, here are some recipes to add a little Thai flare to your holiday table!
Traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas menus can be quite rich, often lacking in acidity, and no spiciness to speak of for those of us who love some heat. By adding some fresh Thai flavours to some dishes, it can really brighten the whole meal, making everything much more enjoyable!
Here are my faves to get you started:
Spicy Thai Brussels Sprouts. When I bring this dish to any holiday gatherings, it is always a hit because it can liven up the whole meal! Pan seared brussels sprouts are tossed in a classic Thai salad dressing, which means it's tart, fresh, and spicy.
Roast Chicken & Thai Gravy. A roast chicken is perfect for a smaller gathering. This gravy is infused with Thai herbs and enriched with coconut milk, and if you're having turkey, you can use the gravy recipe for your turkey also!
Thai Coconut Pumpkin Pie. If you want to sticky with traditional holiday dessert, but want something a little more interesting, this pumpkin pie uses coconut milk, palm sugar and is infused with pandan leaves. It. Is. DIVINE. To make it easy just use store bought pie crust, it's all about the filling anyway!
